You Can Fix the Most Annoying iOS 17 Features on Your iPhone. Here’s How

With the release of iOS 17, like any new update, it has brought a host of exciting features as well as a few that users may find annoying. But there is no need to worry; many of these can be fixed or adjusted to suit your preferences. Here’s how you can address some of the most complained-about iOS 17 features on your iPhone:

1. Control Center Clutter – If you find the new Control Center too cluttered, you can customize it by going to Settings > Control Center. From here, you can remove or add shortcuts to only have the functions you regularly use.

2. Haptic Feedback on Keyboard – Some users find haptic feedback on each keypress annoying or distracting. To turn it off, go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and toggle off “System Haptics.”

3. Notification Overload – iOS 17 brings more layered notifications which can get overwhelming. To manage these, head over to Settings > Notifications. Here, you can fine tune settings for each app or switch to scheduled summary delivery.

4. Battery Drain – Post-update battery drain is a common issue. To combat this, consider turning off background refresh for apps you don’t use frequently (Settings > General > Background App Refresh) or adjusting your Screen Time settings.

5. WiFi and Bluetooth from Control Center – Tapping WiFi or Bluetooth in the Control Center doesn’t actually turn them off; it just disconnects from current networks or devices. To completely turn them off, you’ll need to go into Settings.

6. Siri Suggestions Everywhere – Siri Suggestions can feel invasive for some users. To limit or turn this feature off completely, go into Settings > Siri & Search and adjust your preferences.

7. Full-Screen Music Player on Lock Screen – To prevent the music player from taking up your entire lock screen, you can go into Settings > Face ID & Passcode and disable “Today View” and “Notification View.”

8. Automatic Wallpaper and Theme Changes – With iOS 17’s focus on customization, your wallpaper and themes may change based on focus modes or time of day without clear direction from you. You can control these settings in Settings > Wallpaper & Focus.

9. Changes to Mail App – If you’re not a fan of the new features in the Mail app, explore alternative email clients that might offer an experience more suited to your tastes.

10. App Library Overload – If swiping through pages of apps to get to the App Library isn’t for you, customize your Home Screen by pressing and holding on an empty area until the apps jiggle then tap the minus sign on apps you want to move straight into the App Library without appearing on Home Screens.

By delving into settings and making adjustments that work for your personal user experience, frustrating features in iOS 17 can often be tailored to fit your preferences better – ensuring a seamless interaction with your updated iPhone.
