What Does TBH Mean? It’s Not What You Might Think…

Spread the love

When you first hear the acronym TBH, you might automatically assume it means “to be honest.” However, in today’s digital age, language evolves quickly, and sometimes, it can be difficult to keep up with all of the latest social media slang. So, what does TBH really mean?

TBH stands for “to be honest,” but it’s not always used in a literal sense. Instead, in many cases, it is used as an expression of sincerity, positivity, or even humor.

On social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat, for instance, users often employ TBH as a way to provide feedback on someone else’s post. They might say something like “TBH, you have the best style,” or “TBH, I wish I could take photos like you do.” In these instances, TBH can be viewed as a compliment, which helps foster a sense of community and positivity among peers.

Similarly, TBH is also often used in posts that express feelings of love or appreciation for someone. For instance, a person might write, “TBH, I couldn’t have asked for a better partner,” or “TBH, I would do anything for you.” Again, in these cases, TBH is commonly used to offer a heartfelt expression of emotion.

Perhaps more interestingly, however, is the fact that TBH is also used in a humorous way in certain contexts. For example, a person might post a funny meme or video and then say something like “TBH, I just spit my coffee out,” as a way of conveying that the content was not only funny, but also unexpected or surprising.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
