HP Envy x360 15 Review: A Good 2-in-1 Hampered by an Outdated Display

The HP Envy x360 15 is a versatile 2-in-1 laptop that offers a flexible user experience in a sleek and stylish package. However, it is held back by its outdated display that could leave potential buyers feeling underwhelmed.

Design and Build

The HP Envy x360 15 sports an attractive design with an aluminum chassis that is both lightweight and durable. The convertible laptop features a 360-degree hinge, offering users the ability to flip its touchscreen display seamlessly between laptop, tablet, tent, and stand modes. The laptop boasts a full-size keyboard with well-spaced keys and a large touchpad that supports multi-touch gestures.

Performance

Powered by a choice of AMD Ryzen or Intel Core processors, the HP Envy x360 15 delivers solid performance for everyday tasks and some light gaming. Users can opt for up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of SSD storage, making it suitable for multitasking and fast boot times.
The inclusion of integrated AMD Radeon or Intel Iris Xe graphics ensures smooth video playback and basic graphic-intensive tasks. However, don’t expect this laptop to handle intensive gaming or demanding software such as video editing applications.

Battery Life

In terms of battery life, the HP Envy x360 15 does not disappoint. With optimized power management settings, users can expect up to 12 hours of usage on a single charge. This makes the laptop ideal for professionals who need to work on the go or students who need their device all day.

Outdated Display

Unfortunately, the HP Envy x360’s main setback is its outdated display. The laptop comes with a standard 1920×1080 Full HD resolution screen, which may be underwhelming for some users considering competitors are offering higher resolution displays in similar models. Additionally, the screen brightness is relatively low, which can make it difficult to use in bright environments.

Furthermore, the display’s narrow color gamut may affect content creators and professionals who rely on accurate color reproduction for their work. The laptop’s touch functionality is precise and responsive; however, the screen’s lack of pen support (styli) may be disappointing for users who require digital drawing capabilities.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the HP Envy x360 15 is a solid 2-in-1 laptop choice for those who prioritize versatility and performance. However, the outdated display may deter potential buyers looking for a more immersive visual experience. If HP upgrades the screen in future iterations of this model, it could become a top contender in the 2-in-1 laptop market.
