Introduction

The iPhone is known for its sleek design, user-friendly interface, and advanced features. One of its essential built-in apps is the calculator, which enables users to perform arithmetic operations with ease. Although the iPhone’s calculator delivers reliable results, many users aren’t aware of the ability to view their calculator history. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to find and review your calculator history on an iPhone.

Step 1: Access the Calculator App

Begin by locating the Calculator app icon on your iPhone’s home screen. Tap the icon to open the calculator application.

Step 2: Perform Calculations

Carry out any calculations required by inputting the numbers and selecting the appropriate arithmetic operations – addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. Upon completing each calculation, you will see the result displayed on the screen.

Step 3: Access Calculator History (Option 1)

Unfortunately, the built-in Calculator app on iOS devices doesn’t have a direct way to view calculation history. However, there is a simple workaround. After performing each calculation and viewing the result on-screen, utilize the following steps:

1. Tap and hold over the displayed result.

2. Select “Copy” from the appearing context menu.

3. Open any note-taking app or text editor of your choice (such as Apple’s “Notes” app).

4. Create a new note or document.

5. Tap and hold within this new document where you want to paste your result.

6. Choose “Paste” from the context menu.

7. Repeat these steps for each calculation.

This method allows you to create an organized list of calculations for future reference.

Step 4: Access Calculator History (Option 2)

If viewing your entire calculator history is vital for you, consider installing a third-party calculator app that comes with built-in history tracking features. Many such apps are available on the App Store, including Calculator+ and Calcbot. Each one provides a simple way to view your calculator history within the app, making it easy to track and review your calculations.

Conclusion

While the native iPhone Calculator app doesn’t include a direct method for viewing history, adopting alternative solutions can help you keep track of your calculations. By following the steps outlined above or installing a third-party calculator app, iPhone users can easily access their calculator history for more effective mathematical problem-solving.
