In today’s world, mobile data has become a necessity for most of us. It allows us to stay connected to the internet while on the move and access our favorite apps on the go. However, sometimes we may want to limit our data usage to save money or avoid overage charges. In such cases, one of the best ways to prevent any app from using mobile data on your Android device. Here are some ways to do that:

1. Disable Mobile Data:

The first and most basic step to prevent any app from using mobile data is to disable it completely. You can do this by going to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Data usage’. Here, you can toggle the mobile data option off to disable it.

2. Turn on Data Saver:

Another way to prevent any app from using mobile data is by turning on the Data Saver feature. This feature restricts background data usage by apps and helps save your mobile data. To enable Data Saver, go to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Data usage’. Here, you can toggle on the ‘Data Saver’ option.

3. Restrict Background Data:

Another way to limit your data usage is by restricting background data for certain apps. This will prevent them from consuming data in the background while you’re not actively using them. To do this, go to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Data usage’. Here, you can select the app for which you want to restrict background data and toggle on the ‘Restrict background data’ option.

4. Use a Firewall App:

Firewall apps are designed to control and monitor network traffic on your device. You can use them to block any app from accessing the internet, including mobile data. Some popular firewall apps for Android include NoRoot Firewall, NetGuard, and AFWall+.

5. Use Offline Apps:

Finally, if you want to save mobile data, you can use offline apps that don’t require an internet connection. These apps can be downloaded and used offline, without consuming any mobile data. Some popular offline apps include Google Maps, Spotify, and Netflix.

In conclusion, there are various ways to prevent any app from using mobile data on your Android device. By following these steps, you can save money and avoid overage charges while still enjoying your favorite apps.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
