How to Play Stress (Card Game): 7 Steps

Introduction:

Stress is a fast-paced card game suitable for three or more players and perfect for game night with family or friends. The objective of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards. It’s a fun combination of reflexes and strategic thinking, as you’ll need to be quick with your hands as well as your mind. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to play Stress:

Step 1: Prepare the Deck

In Stress, a standard deck of 52 playing cards is used. Shuffle the deck thoroughly to ensure the cards are properly mixed.

Step 2: Deal the Cards

Deal each player an equal amount of cards, depending on the number of players in the game. For example, if there are four players, each should receive 13 cards.

Step 3: Place Cards Face Down

Each player should place their cards face-down in two stacks – one stack of four cards, and one stack of nine cards.

Step 4: Flip Four Cards

Each player simultaneously flips the top card from their four-card stack and lays it face-up beside the corresponding face-down card.

Step 5: Start Playing!

The gameplay begins with all players trying to match their exposed cards with any face-up card in front of another player. When a player spots a match (two cards with the same value), they quickly place their matching card on top of the other player’s face-up card, thereby getting rid of one of their cards.

Step 6: Continue Playing

After placing a card on another player’s face-up card, quickly turn over your next face-down card (if any) and continue looking for matches. Players should always have four face-up cards in play. If there are no matches, quickly say “Stress!” and everyone must flip one more card from their nine-card stack and add it to their face-up cards.

Step 7: Determine the Winner

The game continues until one player runs out of cards in both their stacks. When this happens, the player shouts “Stress!” and is crowned the winner. Remember, quick thinking and reflexes are essential to winning this exciting card game.

Conclusion:

Stress is a thrilling game that can create hours of fun for family and friends. Use these seven simple steps to quickly get started with this captivating and challenging card game.
