As a Mac user, you will likely find yourself needing to access the Applications folder to install, update, or simply launch applications on your computer. In this article, we will discuss how to locate and open the Applications folder on your Mac.

Method 1: Using the Finder

1. Click the Finder icon in your Dock, or press Command + N to open a new Finder window.

2. From the menu bar, select Go > Applications, or press Shift + Command + A.

This will take you directly to the Applications folder and you will see a list of all the applications installed on your Mac.

Method 2: Using Spotlight

1. Click the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of your screen, or press Command + Space.

2. Type in “Applications” in the search bar and press Enter.

This will show you a list of search results including the Applications folder. Simply click on it to open the folder.

Method 3: Using Terminal

1. Open Terminal by searching for it in Spotlight or by navigating to Applications > Utilities > Terminal.

2. Type in the following command exactly as it appears:
cd /Applications/

3. Press Enter and you will be taken directly to the Applications folder.

Once you have located the Applications folder, you can simply double-click on any application to launch it, or drag and drop the application onto your Dock for easy access in the future.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
