As an avid Firefox user, you might have accumulated hundreds of bookmarks consisting of important web pages. However, if you are changing to a new computer or want to back up your bookmarks before resetting your computer, it is crucial to export your bookmarks to store them safely. By doing this, you can save your bookmarks on external devices such as a USB drive or an external hard drive, ensuring that you never lose them.

Here are some steps on how to export Firefox bookmarks and store them safely:

Step 1: Open up Firefox on your computer, and click on the three horizontal lines (also known as the ‘burger menu’), located at the top-right corner of the window.

Step 2: Next, click on ‘Bookmarks’ and then select ‘Show All Bookmarks’.

Step 3: Once the bookmarks menu appears, click on ‘Import and Backup’, located at the top.

Step 4: A sub-menu will appear. From the sub-menu, click on ‘Export Bookmarks to HTML.’

Step 5: A save dialog box will open up, where you can name the exported bookmarks file.

Step 6: Choose the location you want to save your bookmarks. It is best practice to store the exported bookmarks file on an external device such as a USB drive, an external Hard drive, or cloud-based storage like Dropbox, Google Drive, or OneDrive.

Step 7: After choosing the location, click on the ‘Save’ button.

Voila! You have successfully exported your Firefox bookmarks. With the exported file, you can now save your bookmarks safely on an external device.

It is also important to note that you can re-import the saved bookmarks into Firefox at any time. To do this, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open Firefox and click on the ‘burger menu’.

Step 2: Click on ‘Bookmarks’ and then select ‘Show All Bookmarks’.

Step 3: In the bookmarks menu dialog box, click on ‘Import and Backup.’

Step 4: A sub-menu will appear. From the sub-menu, click on ‘Restore’.

Step 5: Browse and select the previously exported bookmarks file from the external device.

Step 6: Lastly, click on the ‘Open’ button.

Your bookmarks will be successfully restored.

In Conclusion, storing your Firefox bookmarks on an external device is crucial, as it provides you with a safety net in case of any computer failures, loss, or damage. With these simple steps, you can easily export your Firefox bookmarks and store them in a safe and secure location. So, why wait? Go ahead and export your Firefox bookmarks now!
