Roborock vacuums are fantastic devices that help keep our homes clean and tidy. However, like any other home appliance, they require regular maintenance to perform at their best. One of the essential maintenance tasks is cleaning the sensors on your Roborock vacuum. Dirty sensors can lead to decreased performance and navigation issues. In this article, we’ll walk you through the process of cleaning your Roborock sensor in seven easy steps.

Step 1: Power off the vacuum

Before you begin, it’s crucial to turn off your Roborock vacuum to ensure your safety while working on the device. To do this, press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds until the vacuum completely powers down.

Step 2: Remove the dustbin

Next, you’ll want to remove the dustbin from the vacuum. This prevents any debris from falling into the device while you’re cleaning it. The dustbin can typically be found at the rear of the vacuum; just slide it out and set it aside.

Step 3: Locate the sensors

Your Roborock vacuum has several sensors that need cleaning. These include cliff sensors, wall sensors, and obstacle sensors. You can find these on the underside of the vacuum near its edges and around its bumper.

Step 4: Soft cloth and water

To clean your Roborock sensors, dampen a soft cloth with a small amount of water or a gentle cleaning solution such as diluted isopropyl alcohol. Ensure that the cloth is not soaking wet as too much liquid can damage your vacuum.

Step 5: Clean gently

Gently wipe each sensor with the dampened cloth. Be careful not to press too hard or over-saturate them with water, as this could cause damage. It’s essential to use a soft cloth that won’t scratch or damage the delicate surfaces of the sensors.

Step 6: Dry the sensors

After cleaning, ensure that you thoroughly dry each sensor using a dry, soft cloth. It’s crucial to remove any lingering moisture to avoid damage and maintain proper sensor function.

Step 7: Reassemble and test

Once you have successfully cleaned and dried all of your Roborock’s sensors, reinstall the dustbin and power the vacuum back on. Test its navigation and cleaning performance to make sure everything is working correctly. If you notice any issues, double-check that the sensors are clean and correctly functioning before seeking additional troubleshooting or assistance.

By following these seven steps, you’ll ensure that your Roborock vacuum continues to perform at its optimal level without any navigational difficulties. Regular maintenance will help prolong the life of your vacuum and keep your home cleaner than ever before.
