Discord has become a popular platform for communication among gamers, communities, and friends. If you’re an active Discord user, you might want to change your username from time to time to reflect your evolving online persona or simply try something new. Fortunately, changing your Discord name is a straightforward process. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to change your Discord name on both desktop and mobile devices.

Changing Your Discord Name on Desktop:

1. Launch the Discord application on your computer and log in if prompted.

2. At the left-hand side of the screen, locate and click on the server where you want to change your name.

3. Once inside the server, find your username at the bottom-left corner of the window (underneath “Voice Connected” or “No Voice Connection”).

4. Right-click on your username and select “Change Nickname” from the drop-down menu that appears.

5. A text box will appear with your current nickname displayed; erase it entirely or edit it as desired.

6. After making changes, press Enter or click outside of the text box to save your new nickname instantly.

Changing Your Discord Name on Mobile:

1.Open up the Discord app on your mobile device and log in if required.

2 . Tap on any server listed under “Your Servers.”

3 . Look for three horizontal lines (☰) located at either top-left (iOS) or bottom-right (Android) corner of the screen—tap them accordingly.

4 . From within this expanded menu: – For iOS: Tap “My Account.” – For Android: Tap “Settings,” followed by tapping onto account settings labeled with either an avatar icon or gear-shaped icon.

5 . On both platforms: – Locate and tap onto option named Edit. – Change/modify/clear out existing nickname according based upon preference.

6 . Tap on “Save” or “Done” to apply your new Discord nickname.

Remember, when changing your Discord name:

• You cannot use certain characters (like @,#,$,%,&) in your username.

• There may be limits on the length of usernames, depending on the server’s settings.

Once you’ve changed your Discord name successfully, it will be visible across all servers where you are a member. Keep in mind that some servers may have specific rules or guidelines regarding appropriate nicknames—ensure that any changes adhere to those requirements.

Changing your Discord name is an excellent way to express yourself and keep things fresh within the online communities you engage with. Enjoy exploring different identities and experimenting with various names as you chat and connect with others!
