Introduction:
A high-speed chase through Yakima and Kittitas counties ended with the arrest of a Yakima man on November 17, 2024. The suspect, Misael Altamirano Rabadan, led officers on a dangerous pursuit, reaching speeds of up to 110 mph before being apprehended.

Main Content:
The incident began when a driver on Highway 97 near Yakima reported an erratic driver who refused to let others pass. A Washington State Patrol trooper attempted to stop the vehicle for lane violations, but the driver, identified as Misael Altamirano Rabadan, sped away, initiating a high-speed chase.

Rabadan drove recklessly, passing vehicles on the shoulder, entering a Walmart parking lot, and eventually getting onto Interstate 82. The chase continued at high speeds, with Rabadan turning off his vehicle’s lights in an attempt to evade capture. He reached speeds of 110 mph and nearly struck a guardrail while using the left shoulder to pass another vehicle.

The pursuit ended in Kittitas County after Rabadan’s tires were flattened by spike strips, and he was taken into custody. He faces multiple charges, including eluding police and reckless driving. Rabadan is being held on $500,000 bail.

Conclusion:
The high-speed chase through Yakima and Kittitas counties highlights the dangers posed by reckless drivers and the challenges faced by law enforcement in ensuring public safety. The arrest of Misael Altamirano Rabadan brings a sense of relief to the community, but also underscores the need for vigilance and adherence to traffic laws.
