Studying animation in college can open several doors in terms of professional opportunities that are not restricted to animation. Your understanding of computer literacy is expanded, as are your talents in generating characters, storyboards, and modeling, all of which contribute to the improvement of your leadership abilities.

Without a question, the majority of animation graduates aspire to work in the videogame business. However, the abilities provided by animation degrees lead to many alumni working in industries such as advertising and web design.

What Will a Degree in Animation Teach You?

The program focuses on computer animation. Animation techniques, how animation production works, how to build and develop characters, how to storyboard, and how to model are among the key skills you will acquire and polish.

In terms of particular animation methods, you can anticipate this course to cover 2D and 3D animation, motion graphics, and editing. You’ll learn how to screenwrite as well as camera instructions, production planning, and typography along the way.

The training will include a significant amount of computer literacy. You will gain knowledge of applications such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Toon Boom.

Is there a high need for animation graduates?

Many animation grads want to continue in the industry, and there are some openings. However, it is a highly competitive market with no easy path. Job opportunities in the animation industry include game design, broadcast design, and special effects.

Some occupations are closely linked to animation that is more accessible and has more openings, such as graphic design and advertising.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the average compensation for such multimedia artists is roughly $75,270. They also expect that by 2029, this job pool will have grown by 5%.

This assertion is supported by Business Wire. According to their data, the market has already increased by 3% in the last year as a result of the virtual reality obsession.

Degrees in Animation Online

Given the nature of the courses covered in animation programs, it seems to reason that they should be delivered practically exclusively online. As a result, few animation courses provide any type of in-class instruction.

Many universities, such as the California Institute of the Arts and the University of South Florida, also offer graduate degrees that aim to further enhance your animation talents. This will help you advance your career in computer animation by allowing, you to work your way up to executive or director roles.

Finally, consider the following:

There are now possibilities accessible for animation grads, and there will certainly be much more shortly. Getting a degree in computer animation is a sensible decision. However, you can expect a lot of competition.
