Can You Shower With AirPods Pro?

The AirPods Pro have been a revolutionary product from Apple since its release in 2019. Its active noise cancellation, water-resistance, and transparency mode have made it popular among users. However, one question that frequently pops up is whether or not it’s safe to shower with the AirPods Pro.

Before we discuss this in detail, let’s understand the level of water resistance that the AirPods Pro has. The AirPods Pro comes with an IPX4 water resistance rating which means that it can withstand exposure to water from any direction, but only to a limited extent. This means that the AirPods Pro can tolerate sweat and splashes of water, but it isn’t designed to be submerged in water.

With that being said, it’s not recommended to wear the AirPods Pro while taking a shower. Sure, the AirPods Pro may be water-resistant, but it doesn’t mean that it will work properly if it comes in contact with soap, shampoo, and other chemical products that we use while bathing. These products can potentially damage the sensors and the speaker mesh of the AirPods Pro, which can cause various issues like low volume, muffled sound, and diminished battery life.

Additionally, it’s essential to keep the charging case of the AirPods Pro away from the shower as well, as it is not water-resistant, and water can easily seep into it, damaging the internal components.

However, if you accidentally get your AirPods Pro wet or sweaty, don’t panic. The AirPods Pro has a water-repelling mesh located inside the ear tips. You can easily remove the ear tips and dry them off with a clean, dry cloth.
In conclusion, while the AirPods Pro is water-resistant, it’s not recommended to wear them while taking a shower. It’s essential to take precautions to avoid any damage to the AirPods Pro, especially when it comes to the charging case. If you accidentally get them wet, remove the ear tips, and dry them off with a clean, dry cloth. Remember, taking care of your AirPods Pro will prolong their lifespan and ensure that they continue to function correctly.
