Introduction:

Apple’s iPhone SE was released to offer more affordable yet powerful alternatives to other iPhones. In this article, we will compare the specs of the iPhone SE with those of Apple’s previous models: the iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, and iPhone 5S.

Display:

The iPhone SE has a similar display to the older iPhone 5S, featuring a modest 4-inch Retina display with a resolution of 1136×640 pixels. The iPhone 6 and 6S have significantly larger screens at 4.7 inches with better resolutions – the iPhone 6 has a resolution of 1334×750 pixels, and the iPhone 6S has a slightly sharper resolution with added support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 encoding.

Processor:

The performance areas show a more considerable disparity between these models. The iPhone SE sports an A13 Bionic chip with third-generation Neural Engine, providing it with faster performance than its older counterparts. The A13 chip is also more energy-efficient. In contrast, the older iPhones come equipped with A8 (iPhone 6), A9 (iPhone 6S), and A7 (iPhone 5S) processors.

Storage Capacity:

The base storage capacity for the iPhone SE starts at a reasonable 64GB, followed by the available options of128GB and256GB. On the other hand, the base storage capacities for the other models are as follows: iPhone 5S (16GB), iPhone 6 (16GB), and iPhone 6S (16GB). The highest storage capacity available for these models is lower than that offered by the SE – up to only128GB for the iPhones’ initial releases.

Camera:

The camera specs are another area where Apple made improvements in response to consumer demands. While both the SE and the iPhone 6S have similar 12-megapixel rear cameras, the SE benefits from having advanced features such as Portrait mode and support for Smart HDR. The older iPhone 6 has an 8-megapixel rear camera. All three models come with a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, except for the iPhone SE, which includes a better 7-megapixel camera.

Battery Life:

Despite being a smaller device, the iPhone SE offers longer battery life than the other iPhones due to its more efficient processor. The iPhone SE has a battery capacity of up to 13 hours of talk time or video playback compared to10 hours on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S, and8 hours on the iPhone 5S.

Conclusion:

From processor upgrades to storage options, the iPhone SE certainly outclasses its predecessors in essential areas. Its smaller size and lower price-point appeal to customers seeking powerful smartphones in compact form factors without breaking the bank. If you’re considering purchasing an affordable yet proficient iPhone, then the iPhone SE should indeed be at the top of your list when comparing it to older models like the iPhone 6, 6S, and5S.
