VirtualBox is a popular virtualization software that allows you to run multiple operating systems on a single computer. It is especially useful for developers and testers who need to test their applications on different platforms. However, when running Android on VirtualBox, you may encounter screen resolution issues. In this article, we’ll show you how to fix Android screen resolution in VirtualBox.

Step 1: Install Guest Additions

The first step is to ensure that you have installed Guest Additions in your VirtualBox. Guest Additions is a set of drivers and other utilities that improve the performance and usability of virtual machines. To install it, go to the Devices menu on your VirtualBox window and select “Insert Guest Additions CD image.”

Once you’ve inserted the CD image, navigate to the CD folder and run the “VBoxWindowsAdditions.exe” file. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.

Step 2: Adjust Screen Resolution

After installing Guest Additions, start your Android virtual machine and log in to the system. Then, go to the “Settings” menu and select “Display.”

In the “Display” settings, you will see a list of available screen resolutions. By default, the virtual machine may be set to a low resolution that does not fit your virtual machine window. To adjust the screen resolution, select a resolution that matches your virtual machine window size.

If the screen isn’t displaying properly, select “Use Host I/O Cache” to resolve any graphic issues. Also, you can enable the “3D Acceleration” option to improve the graphics performance of the virtual machine. To do so, navigate to the “Display” settings and click on the checkbox to enable the option.

Once you’ve chosen your desired screen resolution and made any additional adjustments, click on “Apply” and “Save” to save the changes.

Step 3: Reboot Your Virtual Machine

After making the changes to the display settings, reboot your virtual machine to apply the changes. To do that, go to the “Power Off” option on the virtual machine window and select “Restart.”

Once the virtual machine reboots, it should now be displaying properly at your chosen screen resolution. Note that it may take some time for the changes to take effect, depending on your virtual machine’s performance.

Conclusion

VirtualBox is a powerful tool for running multiple operating systems, including Android, on a single computer. However, it can sometimes be challenging to adjust the screen resolution of the Android virtual machine. By following the steps in this guide, you can easily fix Android screen resolution in VirtualBox and enjoy a smooth experience on your virtual machine.
