Are you visiting a remote location and wondering how to explore nearby places? Thanks to Google Maps, it has become easier to find places of interest anywhere you go. Below are ways to explore nearby places in remote locations using Google Maps.

1. Install Google Maps

Ensure you have installed Google Maps on your smartphone or tablet. It is available on iOS and Android devices readily. You can download it from the Play Store or App Store.

2. Open Google Maps

Open Google Maps and ensure that your GPS is enabled. Your location will appear on the screen, and you can move the map around using your fingers. Pinch out to zoom in and pinch in to zoom out.

3. Search for Nearby Places

Open the search bar and type in what you are searching, for example, restaurants or gas stations. A list of results will appear, and you can pick what you need. You can also use the “Explore” tool on the app to find trending locations.

4. Use ‘Near Me’

You can search for what you need using the “Near Me” feature. For instance, you can search “Pharmacies near me” or “ATMs near me.” The app will use your location to provide results nearest to where you are.

5. Go to the Nearby Tab

On the bottom of the app, there is a tab with three lines. Open the tab, and you will find the “Nearby” feature. Click on it, and a list of categories will appear. Pick what you need, for instance, restaurants, cafes, or attractions.

6. Use Google Earth

Google Earth provides satellite images of various locations globally. You can preview your destination using this feature to understand what it looks like from aerial view, and what buildings or structures are available.

7. Use Street View

If you prefer viewing the area’s street view, move the Google Maps pin to where you want to go. Then, click on the “Street View” option to get a virtual walk-through. You can move the screen to view the surroundings and even see local businesses and restaurants.

In conclusion, exploring remote locations is no longer challenging thanks to Google Maps. Follow the steps above, and you will find everything you need around you. However, always exercise caution and be aware of your surroundings while exploring.
