While Garry’s Mod is primarily known as an entertainment platform, its unique features and flexibility have also made it a valuable tool in educational settings. Educators and students alike have found innovative ways to use the game for learning, demonstrating the potential of gamification in education.

One of the most apparent educational applications of Garry’s Mod is in physics education. The game’s robust physics engine provides a virtual laboratory where students can experiment with concepts like force, motion, and energy. Teachers have created custom scenarios and challenges that require students to apply their understanding of physics principles to solve problems or create contraptions within the game.

For example, students might be tasked with building a vehicle that can navigate an obstacle course, requiring them to consider factors like weight distribution, propulsion, and aerodynamics. Or they might create a Rube Goldberg machine, demonstrating their understanding of energy transfer and simple machines.
