2025 BMW M4

The BMW M4, the two-door counterpart to the M3, enters the 2025 model year with a series of refinements aimed at enhancing its performance capabilities and luxury appeal.
Like its four-door sibling, the 2025 M4 continues to be offered in standard and Competition variants, with rear-wheel drive or xDrive all-wheel drive. The standard M4 retains its 473-horsepower output from the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine, paired with a six-speed manual transmission for purists.
The M4 Competition receives a power boost for 2025, with output increasing from 503 to 518 horsepower. This increase, coupled with the quick-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission, allows the M4 Competition xDrive to sprint from 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds.
Exterior updates for 2025 are subtle but effective. The M4 receives slightly revised LED headlights and taillights, while the large kidney grille – a point of contention since the model’s introduction – remains unchanged. New paint options, including individual colors, and fresh wheel designs offer more personalization choices.
Inside, the M4 benefits from the latest iteration of BMW‘s iDrive system, version 8.5. This update brings improved graphics, faster response times, and enhanced functionality to the curved display that combines the digital instrument cluster and central touchscreen. New upholstery options and trim choices further elevate the interior’s premium feel.
For 2025, BMW has fine-tuned the M4’s chassis, with updates to the adaptive suspension system providing an even better balance between comfort and performance. The optional M Drive Professional package, which includes features like the M Drift Analyzer and M Laptimer, continues to be available for enthusiasts who frequent the track.
Safety and driver assistance features see an upgrade with the latest version of BMW‘s Driving Assistance Professional package. This includes improvements to the autonomous emergency braking system and adaptive cruise control.
The 2025 BMW M4 is expected to start at around $76,000 for the standard model, with the Competition variant commanding a premium of about $5,000. Despite fierce competition in the high-performance luxury coupe segment, the M4’s blend of power, precision, and style ensures it remains a top contender for enthusiasts seeking a thrilling yet refined driving experience.
