Are you ready to flex your brain muscles with today’s NYT Connections puzzle? Whether you’re a seasoned player or just getting started, we’ve got you covered with hints, answers, and helpful tips for puzzle 431.

What is NYT Connections?

For the uninitiated, NYT Connections is a daily word puzzle game that challenges players to group 16 words into four categories of four words each. It’s a test of vocabulary, lateral thinking, and pattern recognition that’s quickly becoming a favorite among word game enthusiasts.

Today’s Puzzle: A Sneak Peek

Without giving too much away, today’s puzzle (431) features an intriguing mix of words that might have you scratching your head. Let’s dive into some subtle hints to get you started:

Yellow Category: Think about things that might make you say “Ouch!”

Green Category: These words share a common thread in the world of sports.

Blue Category: Look for words that describe different ways to move.

Purple Category: This category might require you to think outside the box – or should we say, outside the earth?

The Big Reveal: Answers and Explanations

SPOILER ALERT! If you haven’t played today’s puzzle yet and want to solve it yourself, stop reading here!

Still with us? Great! Here are the answers for NYT Connections 431:

Yellow: ACHE, HURT, PAIN, SORE

Green: BENCH, DRAFT, TRADE, WAIVE

Blue: CRAWL, CREEP, SLINK, SLITHER

Purple: COMET, MOON, PLANET, STAR

Did you manage to solve them all? The “Yellow” category groups together words related to physical discomfort. The “Green” words are all actions taken by sports teams regarding players. “Blue” words describe slow, stealthy movements. Finally, the “Purple” category lists celestial bodies.

Tips for Connections Success

Start with the obvious: Look for words that clearly go together first.

Think abstractly: Sometimes the connections aren’t literal – they might be thematic or based on word usage.

Use process of elimination: If you’re stuck, try grouping the remaining words and see what fits.

Don’t overthink it: Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one!

Remember, practice makes perfect. The more you play, the better you’ll get at spotting those tricky connections. Happy puzzling!
