.Choose the right suit:Before starting to button your suit, ensure you have the right suit for the occasion. Make sure it fits well and is appropriate for the event.

.Adjust your shirt:Before putting on your suit jacket, make sure your dress shirt is well-adjusted and tucked into your pants. Button all the buttons on the shirt and adjust the collars.

.Put on your suit jacket:Carefully slide your arms into the sleeves, and gently pull the jacket over your shoulders. Adjust the collar if necessary.

.Stand up straight:To properly button your suit, stand up straight with your arms relaxed at your sides. Keep your posture upright to accurately see how the buttons align.

.Determine the number of buttons:Identify how many buttons are on your suit jacket (typically one, two, or three). This will influence how you will button it.

.One-button suit:For a one-button suit, simply fasten the single button below the natural waistline. This will automatically create a polished look.

.Two-button suit:For a two-button suit, always fasten the top button and leave the bottom button unbuttoned. This allows for better overall fit and comfort when sitting.

.Three-button suit:For a three-button suit, follow this rule – sometimes, always, never. Fasten the middle button always; optionally fasten the top button; never fasten the bottom button.

.Double-breasted suits:Double-breasted suits typically have four or six buttons arranged in two columns. Fasten all buttons except for the bottom one to create a tailored appearance.

.Adjust lapels and collar:After buttoning your suit jacket, ensure that your lapels lie flat against the chest and that there are no creases or wrinkles around them.

.Check for pulling or tightness:The suit jacket should drape smoothly and sit naturally against your body. There should be no pulling, tightness, or visible strain when it is buttoned.

.Button your sleeves:Button all the buttons on the jacket sleeves, ensuring that they align neatly and are not too tight or loose around your wrists.

.Inspect your overall look:Take a moment to evaluate your appearance in the mirror. Make sure everything is aligned and smooth, with no visible wrinkles or bunching.

.Practice sitting down:Before leaving for an event or meeting, practice sitting down with your suit buttoned to check for comfort and ease of movement. If you find it restrictive, you can unbutton the jacket while seated.

.Confidence is key:Now that you’ve successfully buttoned your suit, remember to wear it with confidence! A well-buttoned suit can make all the difference in looking and feeling your best at any event or professional engagement.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
