Moving to a new place is an exciting and challenging experience. One of the many important tasks to take care of during this time is updating your address on your Illinois drivers license. In this article, we will discuss three ways to change your address on your Illinois drivers license, ensuring you stay compliant with the law and avoid any potential issues.

1. Online Method

One of the easiest and most convenient ways to update your address on your Illinois drivers license is by using the online services provided by the CyberDriveIllinois website. To do this, follow these simple steps:

a. Visit the CyberDriveIllinois portal (www.cyberdriveillinois.com).

b. Click on “Services” in the main menu.

c. Select “Driver Services” and then click on “License and State ID.”

d. Click on “Address Change” under “Online Services.”

e. Enter the required information, including your current drivers license number, Social Security Number, and new address.

f. Review and confirm your information, then submit the change.

Within a few minutes, you should receive an email confirmation regarding your address change request.

2. By Mail

If you prefer to update your address through mail, you’ll need to complete the appropriate form provided by the SOS (Secretary of State) office.

a. Download and print Form DSD-108 (also known as Application for Change of Address/Name) from the CyberDriveIllinois website.

b. Fill out all sections of the form with accurate information.

c. Mail your completed form to:

Secretary of State

Driver Services Department

Address Change Division

2701 S. Dirksen Parkway

Springfield, IL 62723

Once your form has been received and processed, you’ll receive an updated drivers license card in 7-10 business days.

3. In-Person

If you’d like to complete the address update process in-person, you can visit your local SOS office.

a. Locate your nearest Illinois SOS office by using the office locator on the CyberDriveIllinois website.

b. Bring proof of your new address (such as a utility bill, lease agreement, or bank statement) along with your current drivers license.

c. Fill out and submit Form DSD-108, which should be available at the office.

d. Pay any applicable fees for updating the address on your drivers license.

After completing these steps, you’ll receive an updated license card shortly.

In conclusion, changing your address on your Illinois drivers license can be done in three ways: online, by mail, or in-person. By taking care of this crucial task as soon as possible, you can avoid any potential issues and make sure all necessary records are up-to-date. Happy moving!
