A wedding ring symbolizes the love and commitment between two people embarking on a lifelong journey together. Wearing your wedding ring properly is just as important as choosing the perfect one. Follow these 11 simple steps to ensure you’re wearing your wedding ring correctly.

1. Tradition or Custom: Consider cultural and family traditions when deciding how to wear your wedding ring. In some cultures, the wedding ring is worn on the right hand instead of the left.

2. Engagement Ring vs. Wedding Ring: The engagement ring is typically placed on the left ring finger and is replaced by the wedding ring during the ceremony. Afterwards, both rings can be worn together.

3. Stacking Order: Traditionally, the wedding band is worn closest to the heart (on the base of the finger), with the engagement ring stacked above it.

4. Sizing: Ensure that your wedding and engagement rings are properly sized for comfort and security. If resizing is required, consult your jeweler.

5. Material Matters: Select a material that complements both your style and budget, such as gold, platinum, or silver.

6. Style & Design: Pick a design that reflects your personality and complements your engagement ring (if applicable).

7. Comfort Fit: Choose a wedding band with a comfort-fit design for daily wear without discomfort.

8. Allergy Alert: Check if you’re allergic to certain metals before selecting your wedding ring material.

9. Maintain Your Rings: Clean and inspect your rings regularly for signs of wear or damage. Use a soft toothbrush and gentle soap to clean any dirt or grime buildup.

10. Remove Rings When Necessary: Keep in mind it’s okay to remove your rings occasionally when participating in activities such as swimming, exercising or gardening as it may help prevent damage of the rings.

11. Insurance & Warranties: Safeguarding your investment in wedding rings is important. Ensure you have adequate insurance and warranties in place.

By following these 11 steps, you can confidently wear your wedding ring and cherish the lifelong commitment it represents.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
