From the iconic opening monologue to the endearing curtain call, Dakota Johnson’s hosting gig on Saturday Night Live was a night to remember. Known for her roles in dramatic films, Johnson showed off her comedy chops and timing with a series of memorable sketches.

The evening kicked off with a bang as she delivered a hilarious and self-deprecating monologue, riffing on her Hollywood lineage and her unexpected comedic side. The audience roared with laughter as she made light-hearted jabs at herself and the entertainment industry.

One of the standout sketches featured Dakota Johnson in a parody of a perfume commercial, boasting an absurdly long and impossible-to-pronounce name. Her deadpan delivery and exaggerated model poses had the audience in stitches, proving once again that physical comedy can be just as effective as witty one-liners.

Another memorable moment was the digital short where Johnson played an overly enthusiastic office worker who couldn’t resist breaking into song. The sketch was a finely-tuned combination of cringe and charm, leaving viewers laughing uncomfortably at her character’s obliviousness while secretly rooting for her unabashed enthusiasm for workplace team spirit.

Perhaps one of the most talked-about sketches was a spoof of a celebrity interview show where Dakota played herself being continually tricked by the show’s host into revealing embarrassing personal stories. With spot-on timing, she navigated between being mock-offended and genuinely playful, blurring the lines between reality and satire.

No SNL hosting debut would be complete without an appearance on Weekend Update. Johnson did not disappoint, delivering several snappy one-liners that zinged current events with just the right balance of sarcasm and whimsy.

In addition to showing off her comedic talents, Dakota Johnson also played well with the SNL cast members, seamlessly blending into various ensembles and proving her versatility as both a lead and a supporting player in sketches. Her ability to hold her own alongside established comedians spoke volumes about her natural stage presence and adaptability.

Overall, Dakota Johnson proved to be a delightful surprise as host of Saturday Night Live. Not only did she bring fresh energy to the show, but she also demonstrated an impressive range that fans may not have seen from her before. The night was filled with best moments that will be remembered as highlights of SNL’s season.
