The Best 3-Wheeled Motorcycles For Adults, Ranked By Top Speed

The notion of 3-wheeled motorcycles, also known as trikes, has been gaining popularity among adults who crave the thrill of motorcycling with an added degree of stability and comfort. Ideal for long rides, commuting, or just cruising around town, these three-wheelers combine the performance features of motorcycles with the convenience and safety of a car. Especially for those who find a two-wheeler intimidating or challenging to balance, 3-wheeled motorcycles offer a perfect middle ground.

In this selection, we focus on the top-speed aspect, ranking the best options for adrenaline junkies who want to push the limits. Remember that these speeds are manufacturer claims and should never be tested on public roads – always ride responsibly.

1.Polaris Slingshot R – The Polaris Slingshot R is a real head-turner with a sporty design that’s hard to miss. Equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces about 203 horsepower, this machine can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just over four seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to approximately 125 mph. This makes the Slingshot R not just the fastest but also one of the most powerful three-wheelers available.

2.Can-Am Spyder F3-T – The Can-Am Spyder F3-T brings a combination of power and luxury. Armed with a Rotax 1330 ACE engine, it gives you up to 115 horsepower which is less than the Slingshot but still impressive. It goes from zero to 60 mph in around seven seconds and can achieve top speeds near 110 mph.

3.Piaggio MP3 500 – While not as fast as its above-mentioned rivals, Piaggio MP3 500 Sport still earns a spot with outstanding urban maneuverability and Italian design flair. This model sports a single-cylinder engine delivering around 44 horsepower and boasts an innovative two-wheel front suspension system for improved control. It’s reported to reach a top speed of about 89 mph.

It’s important to note that while speed might be a fun factor to consider, safety features such as anti-lock braking systems (ABS), traction control, and comfort aspects are significant when choosing any vehicle for regular use. As trends show an increase in more people opting for these stable yet thrilling rides, manufacturers continue to innovate with faster, safer, and more sophisticated models hitting the market each year.

When considering high-speed thrills on three wheels, always ensure that your riding skills are honed appropriately and that you’re wearing proper protective gear. The joyride of your life awaits!
