Costa Rica, bordered by both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, is renowned for its stunning beaches, making it a prime destination for travelers looking to dive into crystal-clear waters. Here we explore eight of the best beaches in Costa Rica that are perfect for swimming.

.Manuel Antonio Beach – Nestled within the Manuel Antonio National Park, this beach boasts calm waters and picturesque scenery. Its white sands and lush greenery make it an excellent spot for swimming and relaxing.

.Tamarindo Beach – Located on the Pacific coast, Tamarindo is known for its surf. However, the northern end of this long crescent-shaped beach has tranquil waters ideal for swimmers.

.Conchal Beach – True to its name, Playa Conchal is made up of tiny crushed seashells. The turquoise water here is exceptionally clear, making it one of the top choices for a swim in Guanacaste.

.Punta Uva Beach – On the Caribbean side, Punta Uva is often lauded as one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. The gentle waves and clear water create a perfect setting for both swimmers and snorkelers.

.Flamingo Beach – This beach boasts a wide stretch of pale pink sand and deep blue water. The waves here are generally gentle, allowing for relaxing swimming conditions.

.Samara Beach – Samara’s sheltered bay keeps the water calm and safe for swimming. With its laidback atmosphere, it’s a family favorite and great for those who want to mix swimming with mild watersports.

.Nacascolo Beach – A bit more secluded and located within a bay near Papagayo Peninsula, Nacascolo offers calm waters away from large crowds, suitable for a serene swim experience.

.Montezuma Beach – A hippie haven at heart, Montezuma has several spots that are perfect for a dip amidst the rock formations and soft sands. Check out the waterfalls nearby for a freshwater swim too.

Costa Rica’s beaches offer more than just sunbathing; they provide swimmable waters set against diverse backdrops from white sandy shores to lush tropical forests—perfect for every type of traveler seeking a refreshing plunge amidst nature’s beauty.
