Vancouver is known for its vibrant nightlife and diverse bar scene. While several go-to hotspots often steal the limelight, some hidden gems provide a unique drinking experience away from the usual tourist trails. Here’s a list of the 7 best bars that only the locals know about and that you won’t find in city guides.

1.The Secret Mermaid – Nestled in an unsuspecting alley in Gastown, this underwater-themed bar serves up ocean-inspired cocktails alongside live jazz on the weekends.

2.Logger’s Lounge – Deep in East Van, Logger’s Lounge is a throwback to British Columbia’s logging history. The woodsy decor and locally sourced brews make it a cozy spot for those in the know.

3.The Vinyl Vault – This hidden haunt located beneath a record store in Mount Pleasant is every audiophile’s dream. Their cocktails are named after famous albums and guests can spin records while sipping.

4.Teahouse Tipple – Tucked away inside a Chinatown antique shop, Teahouse Tipple offers an intimate setting where traditional tea-infused cocktails take center stage.

5.The EnigmaBar – Hidden behind an unmarked door in Kitsilano is an escape into a world of mystery cocktails and speakeasy vibe that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.

6.Crystal Chandelier – This West End bar doesn’t advertise and has no signage, but once inside, you’re treated to classic drinks under the glow of countless chic chandeliers providing an ambient atmosphere.

7.Artisan’s Hideaway – Found in a converted garage in the Railtown district, this spot celebrates craftmanship with bespoke cocktails crafted from house-made ingredients and served up amidst local art installations.

While these bars might not be prominently featured on typical tourist maps, they offer unique experiences that reflect Vancouver’s eclectic spirit. For those willing to explore off the beaten path, these establishments promise unforgettable nights filled with great drinks and even better stories.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
