The Best Brushes for Curly Hair We Tested, Including One That Gave Our Tester ‘Curls You Just Dream About’

Finding the perfect brush for curly hair can be a game-changer, providing definition and minimizing frizz without sacrificing the health of your hair. After testing a variety of brushes on the market, we’ve identified some top performers that stand out from the rest.

One brush, in particular, stole the show, earning the title of “the brush giving curls you just dream about.” The Dream Curl Enhancer Brush features flexible, yet firm bristles designed to glide through curls without pulling or breaking the hair. Its unique shape conforms to the scalp, massaging and stimulating circulation while defining curls. Our tester noticed a significant difference – her curls were more defined, bouncy, and maintained their natural pattern without any added frizz.

In our search for brushes that cater to curly hair, we also identified other notable contenders:

1.The Classic Denman Brush:A cult favorite in the curly community, customizable with removable rows to adjust tension for different curl types.

2.The Tangle Teezer Thick & Curly:Specially designed for thick, curly hair, this brush detangles effortlessly and reduces breakage.

3.The Wet Brush Pro Detangle Hair Brush:Known for its IntelliFlex bristles that bend and flex to remove knots without tugging or pulling, it is excellent for post-shower detangling.

4.The Pattern Beauty Shower Brush:Created by Tracee Ellis Ross for her haircare line, this brush is excellent for distributing products and detangling in the shower.

5.The Ouidad Double Detangler:With double-spaced rows of teeth, this heavyweight champion of detangling is ideal for those with extra dense or knotty hair.

Each of these brushes brings something unique to the table – whether it’s customization options with the Denman Brush or special designs like the Tangle Teezer made specifically for certain curl types. However, it was the Dream Curl Enhancer Brush that won over our hearts (and curls), demonstrating unparalleled results that our tester could only dream of achieving previously.

With these tested recommendations in hand, we encourage you to choose based on your specific curl needs and preferences. Always remember that technique is just as crucial as tool selection – use gentle strokes and opt for detangling when your hair is wet and conditioned to minimize breakage. Regardless of choice, each brush offers a path towards embracing and enhancing your natural curls to their fullest potential.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
