Australia is a country with a splendid array of culinary delights, and among them, burgers hold a special place in the hearts of the locals and visitors alike. From Sydney’s bustling streets to Melbourne’s hidden laneways, Brisbane’s sunny suburbs to Perth’s coastal escapes, every corner of this vast country has a burger joint that claims to serve the best burgers in town. But where can one truly find Australia’s best burgers?

Sydney, often seen as the forefront of Australia’s food scene, boasts several spots renowned for their mouthwatering burgers. At the top of the list is perhaps ‘Mary’s’ in Newtown, which has achieved something of a cult status for its American-style burgers with juicy patties and indulgent, gooey cheese. Another must-visit is ‘Burger by Josh,’ which often features limited-edition creations that draw crowds from all over the city.

Melbourne, always keen to compete with Sydney, presents ‘The Royale Brothers’ in Brighton, offering gourmet burgers that many claim are unrivaled across Australia. Simplicity married with high-quality ingredients is their secret. Additionally, ‘Easey’s’ in Collingwood will mesmerize you with not only its delicious burgers but also its unique venue housed in decommissioned train carriages atop a building.

Heading north to Brisbane, ‘Ben’s Burgers’ takes center stage as an indispensable stop for anyone chasing Australia’s best burger title. Another gem in this sunny city is ‘Miss Kay’s’, which frequently sees long queues of eager customers awaiting their tasty creations served alongside locally brewed craft beers.

In the west, Perth holds its own burger bastions like ‘Short Order Burger Co.’, where the focus on fresh, local ingredients pays off with every bite, particularly when sampling their signature beef burger. While there, ‘Varsity Burgers’ stands out for the lively atmosphere and varied menu capable of satisfying even the pickiest of burger aficionados.

Adelaide should not be forgotten either; joints like ‘Bread & Bone Wood Grill’ serve up exquisite burgers that shine through their wood-grilled patties giving them a distinctive flavor profile that truly stands out in the burger scene.

Finally, Hobart might be smaller but is not to be underestimated in the burger stakes – ‘The Standard’ serves up understated yet complex flavors that rally a strong local following who argue these might just be Australia’s best-kept burger secret.

With each state boasting its contenders for Australia’s best burgers, it seems unfair to crown just one as the absolute best. The quest for Australia’s most delectable burger could take you across this great southern land – from beachside shacks cooking up 100% Tasmanian beef patties to hip inner-city spots slathering artisan buns with locally sourced ingredients and house-made sauces. A true burger enthusiast knows that Australia’s best burger isn’t just about what’s between the buns; it’s about the experience, locale, and passion behind every creation served up down under.
