Michigan, with its snowy winters and varied terrain, offers some of the best skiing in the Midwest. According to local experts, enthusiasts of all skill levels can find a slope that suits them. Here are the eight best ski resorts in Michigan:

.Crystal Mountain – Located in Thompsonville, Crystal Mountain is not just for skiing; it’s a family resort offering year-round activities. Its skiing facilities, however, are top-notch with 58 trails and a 375-foot vertical drop.

.Boyne Highlands – Situated near Harbor Springs, Boyne Highlands boasts the highest vertical terrain in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula and is known for its friendly atmosphere and charming accommodations.

.Boyne Mountain Resort – Boyne Falls’ pride, Boyne Mountain Resort offers an Alpine village experience. With 60 runs and Michigan’s largest indoor waterpark, there’s more than enough to keep everyone entertained.

.Nub’s Nob Ski Area – Near Harbor Springs, Nub’s Nob has been awarded for providing the Midwest’s best snow and is popular for both its well-groomed runs and its extensive backcountry area.

.Shanty Creek Resorts – Shanty Creek in Bellaire presents three distinct skiing areas across its property: Schuss Mountain, Summit Mountain, and Cedar River Village, each offering unique experiences for skiers and boarders.

.Mount Bohemia – For those seeking extreme backcountry skiing, Mount Bohemia in the Upper Peninsula is a must-visit with its ungroomed trails providing pure powder conditions and a series of expert-only runs.

.Cabarette Peak Ski & Golf Resort – Celebrated for its variety of beginner and intermediate slopes, Caberfae Peaks near Cadillac is also known for having some of the longest ski days thanks to their efficient lift system.

.Pine Mountain Resort – This Iron Mountain resort is considered a hidden gem with stunning views from the top of Pine Mountain jump and a cozy vibe that keeps visitors returning year after year.

Local experts suggest visiting these resorts not only for their snowy slopes but also for the overall experience each one offers. From luxury amenities to rustic charms, there’s something special about each destination on this list that makes them stand out as the best ski resorts in Michigan.
