3 Ways to Cancel a Planet Fitness Membership

An enjoyable gym experience is essential for maintaining a consistent fitness routine. But sometimes, circumstances change, and you may find it necessary to cancel your gym membership. If you’re a member of Planet Fitness and need to discontinue your membership, there are three main ways to do so. In this article, we’ll guide you through each method to make the cancellation process as smooth as possible.

1.Cancelling In Person

Cancelling your Planet Fitness membership in person is often considered the most straightforward and reliable method. Follow these steps:

– Visit your home club (the location where you initially signed up). Keep in mind that cancellation requests can only be processed at your home club.

– Request a cancellation form from a team member at the front desk.

– Fill out the necessary information on the form, including your name, member ID, home address, and reason for cancellation.

– Submit the completed form back to the front desk staff.

– Your account should be canceled within a few days. Make sure to retain copies of any paperwork for your records.

2.Cancelling Via Certified Mail

If visiting the gym in person isn’t an option for you, the next best approach is sending a cancellation request via certified mail. To do this:

– Write a letter including your name, member ID, home address, and reason for cancelling.

– Be sure to state that you want to cancel your membership effective immediately.

– If possible, include a copy of any documentation you were provided when you signed up (this will serve as proof of your initial agreement).

– Send the letter via certified mail with return receipt requested. This helps ensure it’s received and provides proof of delivery.

– Once Planet Fitness receives your letter, they should process the cancellation within several days.

3.Call Member Services

Lastly, some members have had success cancelling their Planet Fitness memberships by calling Member Services directly:

– Locate the support phone number on your membership card or the Planet Fitness website. It is usually 1-844-880-7180 for the US and 1-844-263-5472 for Canada.

– When speaking to a representative, provide your name, member ID, and reason for canceling.

– They may ask additional questions to verify your identity and process the cancellation request.

Keep in mind that this method is not guaranteed to work, as some locations may insist on an in-person visit or certified mail.

In summary, to cancel your Planet Fitness membership, opt for one of the three methods – in person, via certified mail, or by calling Member Services. Regardless of the method chosen, be sure to follow up with your home club to confirm that your cancellation has been processed promptly. By navigating through these steps, you can successfully terminate your Planet Fitness membership with minimal hassle.
