The classic s’more is a beloved treat that combines gooey marshmallows, sweet chocolate, and crunchy graham crackers to create a nostalgic taste of summertime. While the traditional method of making s’mores by roasting marshmallows over a campfire is well-known, there are several other ways to enjoy this sweet treat. Here are four ways to make a s’more.

1. The Classic Campfire S’more

Ingredients:

– Graham crackers
– Marshmallows
– Chocolate bars

Instructions:

1. Start by preparing a steady campfire with glowing embers.

2. Break the graham crackers in half to create two squares.

3. Place a piece of chocolate on one of the graham cracker squares.

4. Spear a marshmallow with a roasting stick or skewer and roast it over the campfire until golden brown and melty.

5. Place the roasted marshmallow on top of the chocolate, then sandwich it with the other graham cracker square.

6. Press gently and allow the heat from the marshmallow to melt the chocolate before enjoying your campfire s’more.

2. Oven-Baked S’mores

Ingredients:

– Graham crackers
– Marshmallows
– Chocolate bars

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Break the graham crackers in half, creating two squares for each s’more.

3. Lay half of the graham cracker squares on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

4. Place a piece of chocolate on each graham cracker square.

5. Top each chocolate-covered square with a marshmallow.

6. Bake for 5-7 minutes or until marshmallows are golden brown and soft.

7. Remove from the oven and immediately place another graham cracker square on top, pressing lightly to make a sandwich.

8. Let the s’mores cool for a minute or two before enjoying.

3. S’more Skillet Dip

Ingredients:

– Cooking spray or butter
– Graham crackers
– Marshmallows
– Chocolate chips or chocolate bars

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).

2. Coat a cast iron skillet or oven-safe dish with cooking spray or butter.

3. Fill the bottom of the skillet with chocolate chips or broken-up chocolate bars.

4. Top the chocolate layer with marshmallows, covering it completely.

5. Bake for 5-7 minutes or until the marshmallows are toasted and the chocolate is melted.

6. Serve immediately with graham crackers for dipping.

4. S’mores in a Microwave

Ingredients:

– Graham crackers
– Marshmallows
– Chocolate bars

Instructions:

1. Break the graham crackers in half to form two squares for each s’more.

2. Lay one graham cracker square on a microwave-safe plate.

3. Place a piece of chocolate on the graham cracker square and top it with a marshmallow.

4. Microwave on high power for 15-20 seconds, watching closely as the marshmallow will expand.

5. Remove from the microwave and immediately place another graham cracker square on top, pressing gently to make a sandwich.

6. Let it sit for about 30 seconds before enjoying, allowing the heat from the marshmallow to melt the chocolate.

These four versatile methods will ensure you can enjoy delicious s’mores in any situation – whether you’re sitting by a campfire or in your own home. Give each one a try and discover which method you like best!
