In today’s eco-conscious world, more and more people are looking for natural alternatives to harsh chemical cleaners. One popular option is homemade liquid dish soap. Not only is it gentle on your hands and the environment, but it also saves money and is easy to make at home. Here are three simple ways to create your own customizable liquid dish soap recipes.

1. Classic Castile Soap Liquid Dish Soap

Ingredients:

– 1/2 cup unscented liquid castile soap

– 1/4 cup distilled water

– 1 tablespoon white vinegar

– 1 teaspoon washing soda (can be found in the laundry aisle)

– 10-15 drops essential oils of your choice (optional)

Instructions:

1. Mix the distilled water and washing soda in a bowl until the washing soda dissolves completely.

2. Add the liquid castile soap, white vinegar, and essential oils (if using) to the mixture.

3. Stir well until all ingredients are combined. Pour into a clean, empty hand soap dispenser or pump bottle.

4. Shake gently before each use.

2. Lemon-Scented Liquid Dish Soap

Ingredients:

– 1 cup warm water

– 1/4 cup unscented soap flakes or grated bar soap (natural and eco-friendly soaps preferred)

– 1 tablespoon glycerin

– 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar

– 10 drops lemon essential oil

Instructions:

1. In a saucepan, heat the water until it’s almost boiling, then remove from heat.

2. Add the grated soap or soap flakes to the hot water, stirring until it has dissolved completely.

3. Stir in glycerin followed by distilled white vinegar.

4. Allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes before adding lemon essential oil.

5. Pour into a clean, empty hand soap dispenser or pump bottle and shake gently before each use.

3. Baking Soda and Sal Suds Dish Soap

Ingredients:

– 1/2 cup distilled water

– 2 tablespoons Sal Suds (a biodegradable cleaner)

– 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 10 drops essential oils of your choice (optional)

Instructions:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine Sal Suds, vinegar, distilled water, and essential oils (if using).

2. In a separate container or paper cup, mix a little distilled water with the baking soda to create a paste.

3. Add the baking soda paste to the Sal Suds mixture, stirring until completely combined.

4. Pour the mixture into a clean, empty hand soap dispenser or pump bottle.

5. Shake gently before each use.

Each of these homemade liquid dish soap recipes is an excellent alternative to store-bought options. By making your own dish soap, you can eliminate unnecessary chemicals and fragrances while also saving money and reducing plastic waste. Plus, it’s a fun DIY project that’s easy to customize based on your personal preferences. So give one (or all) of these recipes a try and enjoy cleaner dishes with a cleaner conscience!
