Step 3: Perform calculations

Example:

Let’s say we have a device that consumes 1000 watts of power at an input voltage of 120 volts. Using the power formula, we can calculate the amp draw as follows:

Current (I) = Power (P) / Voltage (V)

Current (I) = 1000W / 120V

Current (I) = 8.33 A
