At the end of a busy day, it’s common for chaos to ensue as everyone is trying to leave and wrap up their work. To help bring some calmness to this chaotic time, here are 8 dismissal tips:

1. Establish a routine: Create a set routine that everyone follows at the end of the day. This can include tasks like organizing desks, shutting down computers, and tidying up shared spaces. Consistency will help streamline the dismissal process.

2. Communicate expectations: Clearly communicate what is expected from each team member at the end of the day. Set deadlines for tasks that need to be completed and remind everyone to prioritize their workload accordingly.

3. Prioritize tasks: Encourage employees to prioritize their tasks for the next day before leaving. This will help them start the next day with a clear plan in mind and reduce any last-minute panic.

4. Delegate unfinished work: If there are any unfinished tasks or ongoing projects, delegate them to capable team members who can handle them. This way, the workload can be distributed and progress can continue even after people have left for the day.

5. Encourage open communication: Create an environment where employees can freely communicate any pending tasks or roadblocks they may be facing. Encourage them to seek help from colleagues if needed, so that no important tasks get overlooked by the end of the day.

6. Implement a checklist: Provide employees with a checklist of tasks that need to be completed before leaving. This can include items like saving files, locking cabinets, turning off lights, and setting alarms. Having a visual reminder can help ensure nothing is missed.

7. Foster a positive atmosphere: Ending the day on a positive note can make a difference in everyone’s mood. Encourage team members to share their accomplishments or positive experiences from the day, creating a supportive and motivating environment.

8. Practice self-care: Remind everyone to take care of themselves before leaving. Encourage them to switch off from work mode, engage in activities they enjoy, and relax. This will help relieve stress and promote work-life balance.

By implementing these dismissal tips, you can create a smoother and calmer end-of-day routine, reducing chaos and allowing everyone to leave with a sense of completion and peace of mind.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
