1. Breakfast in bed: The simplest way to surprise anyone on their birthday is to prepare a delicious breakfast and serve it to them in bed. Make sure to add their favorite food items and a hot beverage of their choice.

2. Balloon barrage: Fill their room or the entire house with colorful balloons to create an instant party atmosphere. Add sweet handwritten notes or small gifts inside some of the balloons for an extra surprise!

3. Surprise party: Organize a surprise party for the birthday person with their closest friends and family members. Be sure to keep this a secret, so they don’t suspect anything.

4. Birthday scavenger hunt: Hide various small gifts, notes, or clues around the house or outside, leading to larger presents or the big reveal of the surprise party.

5. Themed surprise: Decorate their room or living space with their favorite colors, movie characters, or hobbies as a theme, and watch as they light up with excitement.

6. Flash mob dance: Get friends and family members together to master a choreographed dance routine and perform it at a predetermined time and location as you bring the birthday person there unsuspectingly.

7. Birthday video montage: Compile video messages from friends, family members, or even coworkers talking about what they love most about the birthday person. Present this video montage during an intimate gathering or a surprise party.

8. Personalized gift: Spend time crafting a unique gift that reflects their interests or passions – this could be a sentimental scrapbook of memories, a DIY painting of their favorite landscape, or even composing a heartfelt song.

9. Surprise visitor: Arrange for a long-lost friend or family member who they haven’t seen in years to make an unexpected appearance on their birthday.

10. Charity donation: If the celebrant is passionate about a specific cause, make a charitable donation in their name – not only will it make them feel happy, but it also benefits those in need.

11. Transform their workspace: If you share an office or workspace, decorate it with balloons, streamers, and a happy birthday banner while they’re away.

12. Countdown to the birthday: Build anticipation by leaving little surprises, such as notes or small gifts, in the days leading up to their birthday.

13. Take them on a mystery trip: Plan a surprise getaway for the weekend or even just for the day. Keep everything under wraps until you reach your destination.

By employing one or more of these surprise ideas, you are sure to make this year’s birthday celebration even more special for your loved one.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
