Infiniti, the luxury division of Japanese automaker Nissan, has come a long way since its inception in 1989. Over the past 30 years, Infiniti has established itself as a global brand synonymous with innovation, performance, and design. Let’s take a journey through the milestones that have defined Infiniti’s first three decades in the automotive industry.

1989: Infiniti is born

Infiniti debuted in the North American market in 1989, showcasing its flagship model – the Q45 sedan. With a powerful V8 engine, rear-wheel drive, and an innovative active suspension system, the Q45 instantly set new standards for performance and luxury.

1990s: Expansion and recognition

The 1990s saw Infiniti grow steadily in terms of model offerings and market share. Vehicles such as the G20 sedan and the QX4 SUV ensured that the brand was well-represented in various segments. In addition to expanding its lineup, Infiniti earned praise for quality and customer satisfaction both on J.D. Power surveys and from automotive journalists alike.

2003: The G35 takes center stage

The introduction of the G35 sports sedan in 2003 was a pivotal moment for Infiniti. Its combination of luxury, performance, and style resulted in rave reviews from critics and consumers alike. The G35 helped redefine public perceptions of the brand and set a new benchmark for sport sedans.

2010: Embracing electrification

Infiniti made waves at the 2010 Paris Motor Show with its announcement of developing electric vehicles (EVs) for mass production in the near future. Previewing the electric car concept through models like LE concept (2012) demonstrated commitment to sustainability while maintaining driving pleasure and engagement.

2014: Q50 Eau Rouge Concept

One of Infiniti’s most thrilling concepts was the Q50 Eau Rouge. Revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the car embodied Infiniti’s dedication to performance and racing-inspired design. The concept showcased a twin-turbo V6 engine delivering over 560 horsepower, illustrating that the brand is committed to developing high-performance vehicles.

2018: The Infiniti Q Inspiration Concept

Infiniti caught attention at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show when they unveiled their Q Inspiration Concept. The striking design language depicted the future direction of the brand, with an emphasis on progressive technology, electrification, and autonomous driving capabilities.

2019: Edition 30 Series

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Infiniti introduced a limited-edition version of its popular models called Edition 30. These special editions featured unique design elements, enhanced technology packages, and ProPILOT Assist – guided by a suite of advanced safety technologies – showcasing Infiniti’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

Through high-quality vehicles, cutting-edge technologies, and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, Infiniti has grown from strength to strength over its first 30 years. As we reflect on these achievements and milestones, we eagerly anticipate what the next chapter holds for this prestigious luxury automaker.
