The choice between a Cove and a SimpliSafe home security system can be challenging, as both companies offer reliable products, with excellent customer reviews. To determine the best solution for your needs, let’s compare their features, pricing, and benefits.

Ease of Installation

Both Cove and SimpliSafe have DIY installation processes designed for ease and convenience. With clear instructions and no requirement for professional assistance, users can set up either system within an hour.

Equipment Packages

Cove has two main packages – the Basic package containing essential sensors and alarms, and the Comprehensive package with additional detection features.

SimpliSafe offers more variety, with five pre-configured system packages that can scale based on individual needs. Their options range from simple entry-level setups to more advanced security solutions for larger properties.

Customization

Cove allows users to customize their security systems according to their specific requirements. Users can add additional devices, including cameras, environmental sensors, and medical alerts.

SimpliSafe also provides users with customizable options allowing them to design a tailored system best suited for their homes or businesses.

Monitoring Plans

Cove offers two monitoring plans: 1) Basic Plan ($25 per month) and 2) Value Plan ($35 per month) – the latter includes smartphone control, remote access to security settings, notifications on your mobile phone, and other added features.

SimpliSafe offers three plans: 1) Self Monitoring (no monthly fee), 2) Standard Monitoring ($14.99 per month), and 3) Interactive Monitoring ($24.99 per month). The Interactive Monitoring plan consists of all features provided in the Standard plan plus smart home controls through the smartphone app.

Contracts and Cancellation Policy

Cove has a flexible cancellation policy without long-term contracts unless customers finance equipment purchases over a period of 36 months.

SimpliSafe also offers flexibility, with no long-term contracts required. Customers can easily cancel their monitoring services whenever they wish to do so.

Customer Support

Cove and SimpliSafe provide multiple support options, including online help centers, email support, and phone assistance. For a more personalized approach, SimpliSafe has the added benefit of being able to request a callback from their support team.

Final Thoughts

Both Cove and SimpliSafe reliably offer home security systems with easy installation, customization options, and flexible terms. The fundamental difference lies in the variety of their equipment packages and monitoring plans. While SimpliSafe provides more pre-configured packages and budget-friendly monitoring options, Cove allows users more control over their package pricing and features a higher-end Value Plan for monitoring services. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your individual security needs and preferences.
