In recent years, the budget smartphone segment has witnessed significant growth, with new players presenting innovative products at affordable prices. The Moto G Power 5G is one such device, turning the concept of a budget smartphone on its head by offering an array of impressive features at a very competitive price point. In this article, we will dive into our detailed review of the Moto G Power 5G that gets just enough right for a $300 phone.

Design and Build Quality

The design of the Moto G Power 5G is sleek and modern, with a plastic back and aluminum frame that showcases its premium look. Despite being a budget device, it doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy in hand. The fingerprint scanner has been positioned on the back panel for convenient authentication. The phone also comes with water-repellent coating, which adds an extra layer of protection against accidental spills.

Display

The Moto G Power 5G sports a 6.8-inch Full HD+ Max Vision display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and HDR10 support. This means you can expect vibrant colors and deep blacks in your media consumption experience. However, the display might seem a bit dull when used outdoors under sunlight.

Performance and Battery Life

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset combined with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, the Moto G Power 5G holds its own when it comes to everyday tasks like browsing social media, streaming videos, and light gaming. While it may not match the performance of flagship devices, it’s more than sufficient for most users.

The main selling point of this phone is its massive 5000mAh battery that can last up to two days on moderate usage. This provides users with a sense of confidence knowing they won’t have to hunt for power outlets in the middle of their day.

Camera

The triple-camera setup on the Moto G Power 5G includes a 48MP main camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. The camera captures decent shots in well-lit scenarios with accurate colors and good dynamic range. However, it struggles in low-light conditions, which might be an area of concern for those looking to capture stunning night-time shots.

Software and Additional Features

The Moto G Power 5G runs on Android 10 with Motorola’s custom skin called My UX. It offers a clean, stock Android experience without any unwanted bloatware. Additionally, the phone comes with 5G support, future-proofing the device for those looking to explore faster data speeds on their network.

Conclusion

The Moto G Power 5G may not excel in every aspect, but it manages to get just enough right to provide users with a well-rounded device at the $300 price point. Key highlights include its solid design, good battery life, and an overall satisfying performance. If you’re seeking a budget-friendly option with decent features and 5G support, the Moto G Power 5G is worth considering.
