6 Easy Ways to Hide a Power Strip

Whether you work from home or have an entertainment center setup in your living room, power strips are often essential to keeping all your devices connected and charged. However, they can also be unsightly and create clutter in your space. The good news is that there are techniques to conceal your power strip and maintain a neat appearance. Here are six easy ways to hide a power strip in any area of your home.

1. Use cable management sleeves or covers

Cable management sleeves and covers come in various materials such as neoprene, nylon, or fabric. Simply wrap the power strip and its cables within the sleeve, and it becomes much less noticeable. With zippered designs or even adhesive backing, these sleeves can be customized to fit various lengths and widths of cables.

2. Put it in a drawer or underneath furniture

If possible, place the power strip inside an empty drawer or cabinet to keep it out of sight. This method works best when you have enough free space in the drawer for ventilation and when the furniture piece is close to the devices being powered. Just make sure not to overload the power strip.

3. Create custom DIY housing for the power strip

Get creative with DIY solutions such as repurposing a decorative box, hollowed-out book, or even a cereal box covered in craft paper. Create openings for cables on both ends while ensuring proper ventilation so that the power strip doesn’t overheat.

4. Use cord organizers behind desks or TV stands

Cord organizers can be mounted behind desks or TV stands to keep your cords together and out of sight from anyone sitting at eye level. They come in adhesive-backed clips, stick-on channels, or velcro straps varieties that hold cords securely without leaving any damage on your furniture.

5. Snake cables through walls or floors

For those willing to invest time and effort into their cable management, snaking cables through walls or floors can be a more permanent solution. Use wall plates with cable ports or drill holes in your floor to pull cables directly from the power strip to the devices in an organized and nearly invisible way.

6. Use cable concealment products

These products, like cable raceways or cord hiding tape, are designed to discreetly blend in with your home’s décor and hide power strips and cables. Simply attach them to baseboards, walls, or even underneath carpets to create a seamless look throughout the room.

In conclusion, a well-organized and clutter-free space is achievable even with the presence of power strips. With these six easy methods for hiding your power strip, you can maintain a clean appearance and focus on enjoying your devices without distraction.
