Ice cream is a delightful treat for many, and it’s even better when you can make it at home! Preparing homemade ice cream can sound intimidating, but fear not; we’ve compiled a list of four simple ways to make ice cream that even beginners can master. So get ready to whip up some delicious desserts and impress your friends and family with your ice cream-making skills!

1. No-Churn Vanilla Ice Cream

This method is perfect for those who don’t have an ice cream maker and prefer classic vanilla flavors.

Ingredients:

– 2 cups heavy cream

– 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

– 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Whip the heavy cream in a large bowl until stiff peaks form.

2. Gently fold in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract.

3. Pour the mixture into a freezer container or loaf pan and cover it.

4. Freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight until solid.

2. Mason Jar Ice Cream

This fun approach is as easy as shaking up a jar!

Ingredients:

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Combine the ingredients in a mason jar with a tight-fitting lid.

2. Seal the jar securely, and shake vigorously for 5-10 minutes, until the mixture thickens.

3. Freeze the jar for at least 3 hours or until fully set.

3. Frozen Banana “Nice” Cream

This healthy alternative uses frozen bananas as the base.

Ingredients:

– 2 ripe bananas, sliced and frozen

– 1/4 cup milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy)

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Blend all ingredients in a food processor or high-powered blender until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.

2. Transfer the mixture to a freezer container and freeze for at least 2 hours.

4. Ziploc Bag Ice Cream

This method also requires no special equipment, just a couple of resealable plastic bags.

Ingredients:

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

– 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

– 4 cups ice

– 1/2 cup kosher or rock salt

Instructions:

1. In a quart-sized Ziploc bag, mix the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract.

2. Seal the bag tightly, squeezing out any excess air.

3. Fill a gallon-sized Ziploc bag halfway with ice and add the salt.

4. Place the smaller bag into the larger bag filled with ice and seal the larger bag.

5. Shake the bags together for about 5-10 minutes until the mixture thickens.

6. Remove the inner bag, carefully wipe off any salt, and snip a corner to serve or transfer to a container and freeze until desired consistency is reached.

These four methods provide an easy introduction to making ice cream at home. So why not give them a try? You’ll find that homemade ice cream is not only simple but also enjoyable and satisfying to create!
