3 Ways to Write on Instagram Stories

Instagram stories have become an essential part of our daily lives, allowing users to share fleeting moments and creative content with their followers. One of the most popular features of Instagram stories is the ability to write, draw, and add text to your images and videos. This article will explore three different methods for writing on Instagram stories so that you can make your content stand out.

1. Adding Standard Text:

The most popular and simple way to write on Instagram stories is by adding standard text overlays. Here’s how to do it:

a) Open Instagram and tap the camera icon in the top left corner or swipe right from your home screen to access the story feature.

b) Capture a photo or video, or upload one from your gallery.

c) Tap the “Aa” icon in the top right corner of the screen.

d) Type your desired text, then choose a font style, color, and any additional effects like shadow or background color.

e) You can resize, rotate, and move the text box around your image by using two fingers to pinch or drag it.

f) Once you’re satisfied with the text layout, tap “Done” and post your story.

2. Using Handwriting Tool:

If you want a more personalized touch, try using the handwriting tool to manually create text or drawings on your stories. Here’s how:

a) Follow steps a and b from method 1 above.

b) Tap the pen icon in the top right corner of the screen.

c) Choose a brush style (pen, marker, chalk or eraser) from the options that appear at the bottom.

d) Pick a color by tapping on the color wheel icon beside brush styles.

e) Use your finger or stylus to write, draw or scribble directly onto your image or video.

f) You can undo any mistakes by tapping the undo arrow icon, located near the color wheel.

g) When you’re happy with your handwriting, tap “Done” and post your story.

3. Combining Text and Handwriting for a Creative Layered Look:

To make your stories even more eye-catching, you can experiment with combining both text overlays and handwritten elements for a unique, layered look. Follow these steps:

a) Begin by following either method 1 or 2 above.

b) Whichever method you chose first, now follow the other method. For example, if you added standard text first, now use the handwriting tool (or vice versa).

c) Carefully position the elements to complement each other or to create contrasting layers – you may want to play with sizing and placement.

d) Tap “Done” when you’re satisfied with the layout and post your story.

By using these three methods for writing on Instagram stories, you can show off your creative flair and give your followers something visually appealing to engage with. Remember that practice makes perfect, so don’t be afraid to experiment and refine your skills over time.
