3 Ways to Bleach Your Eyebrows

Eyebrows are a defining feature of our faces, and sometimes changing the color of our brows can make a significant impact on our overall appearance. Bleaching the eyebrows is one alternative to change their color and achieve a more harmonious look with lighter hair or simply try a new style. In this article, we will explore three different methods to bleach your eyebrows safely and effectively.

1. Using Eyebrow Bleaching Kits

One of the easiest and safest ways to bleach your eyebrows is by using an eyebrow bleaching kit. These kits are specifically designed for facial hair and ensure that the process is gentle on your skin. To use an eyebrow bleaching kit, follow these steps:

– Thoroughly cleanse your eyebrow area to remove any oils, makeup, or dirt.

– Mix the bleach cream and accelerator according to the instructions provided in the kit.

– Apply the mixture directly onto your eyebrows using an applicator or a clean cotton swab.

– Leave it on for the recommended time mentioned in the instructions (usually between 5-10 minutes).

– Use a clean, damp cloth to gently wipe off the bleach mixture from your eyebrows.

– Assess the results and repeat the process if necessary until you achieve the desired shade.

2. Hair Bleach with Lower Developer Volume

A popular option among those experienced in at-home hair bleaching is to use hair bleach along with a low-volume developer. As eyebrow hairs are much finer than scalp hairs, you should use only 10 or 20 volume developer instead of 30 or 40 volume developers used for hair dyeing. Here’s how you can proceed:

– Cleanse your eyebrows thoroughly as previously described.

– Mix equal parts of hair bleach powder and developer by following the manufacturer’s instructions.

– Apply petroleum jelly around your eyebrows to protect your skin from potential irritation.

– Cover each eyebrow with a thin layer of the bleach mixture, making sure not to get any product in your eyes.

– Monitor the eyebrow color change periodically (every 2-3 minutes) as the process may take less than 10 minutes.

– Remove the product with a moistened cloth and rinse thoroughly with cool water.

3. Natural Bleaching with Lemon Juice

If you’re looking for a more natural method to lighten your eyebrows, lemon juice can be an option. However, it is essential to note that this method only works on lightening already fair brows and is less effective compared to chemical-based methods. To use lemon juice for bleaching eyebrows:

– Squeeze fresh lemon juice into a small container.

– Apply the lemon juice onto your eyebrows using a clean cotton swab.

– Leave the juice on your eyebrows for up to an hour – exposing your brows to direct sunlight during this time can help the citric acid work better.

– Rinse off the lemon juice thoroughly with cool water.

– Repeat this process multiple times over a few days for noticeable results.

In conclusion, there are various methods available to bleach your eyebrows: from dedicated eyebrow bleaching kits to more natural remedies like lemon juice. Ensure that you always follow safety precautions and perform patch tests when using new products around delicate facial areas. And remember, if you’re unsure about taking this step on your own, consulting a professional is always recommended!
