Introduction:

Adding glitter to your nail polish can be a fun and trendy way to spice up your nails. There are several techniques to apply glitter, each providing a different look and feel. In this article, we will explore three different methods for applying glitter on nail polish: the dabbing method, the brushing method, and the dipping method. Let’s dive in!

1. The Dabbing Method

The dabbing method is ideal for those who want a dense and full coverage of glitter on their nails.

Step 1: Start by applying a base coat of your choice on your nails, followed by two coats of colored nail polish.

Step 2: While the second coat is still wet, take a small makeup sponge and pick up some glitter using the flat side of the sponge.

Step 3: Gently press the sponge onto your nail, dabbing it from the base to the tip until you achieve your desired coverage.

Step 4: Finish with a layer of topcoat to seal in the glitter and make it long-lasting.

2. The Brushing Method

For a more subtle or ombre effect, try the brushing method.

Step 1: Apply a base coat and two layers of colored nail polish to your nails.

Step 2: Dip a clean fan brush or small makeup brush into loose glitter.

Step 3: Lightly brush the glitter onto your nails in swift, horizontal strokes. For an ombre effect, concentrate more glitter at the base and gradually decrease as you brush towards the tip.

Step 4: Seal everything with a good layer of topcoat once you have achieved your desired look.

3. The Dipping Method

The dipping method is perfect for those after full coverage without dealing with sponges or brushes.

Step 1: Prepare your nails by applying a base coat followed by one layer of your chosen colored nail polish.

Step 2: Have a small container filled with loose glitter ready. After applying the second layer of colored nail polish, dip your fingertip into the container while the polish is still wet.

Step 3: Press the glitter onto your nail, making sure the entire surface is covered.

Step 4: Gently brush off any excess glitter and follow up with a topcoat to keep everything in place.

Conclusion:

Glitter can take your nails from ordinary to extraordinary in no time. By using these three methods, you can customize your look and achieve anything from full-on glamour to a subtle sparkle. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different techniques and colors to find the perfect glitter look for you!
