3 Simple Ways to Compare Astrology Charts

Astrology is an ancient practice that has fascinated individuals for centuries. Many people rely on astrological charts to navigate life and gain insights into their relationships, career paths, and personal growth. Comparing astrology charts can be a valuable tool in understanding the dynamics between two individuals or assessing the compatibility of business partners, friends, or romantic interests. In this article, we will explore three simple ways to compare astrology charts: the synastry technique, composite charts, and the midpoint method.

1. Synastry Technique

The synastry technique focuses on examining the interactions between two individual’s natal charts. This method provides a detailed analysis of each person’s astrological aspects and identifies the harmonious or challenging aspects that exist between them.

To perform a synastry comparison, you need both individuals’ birth information (date, time, and location). Then draw up both natal charts using any preferred astrology software or website. Once you have both charts, analyze how the planets in one chart aspect or relate to those in the other chart.

Look for significant aspects such as conjunctions (0 degrees), sextiles (60 degrees), squares (90 degrees), trines (120 degrees), and oppositions (180 degrees). Additionally, consider how elements (fire, earth, air, water) and qualities (cardinal, fixed, mutable) play out between the two charts. By dissecting these connections, you can uncover insights about how well two people may communicate or clash in various areas of life.

2. Composite Charts

Composite charts provide a different perspective on relationships by creating a single chart that represents between two people. This method blends each individual’s natal chart to create one combined chart – like examining a new “entity” born of two separate influences.

Creating a composite chart requires calculating each planet’s midpoints found at an equal distance between each pair of corresponding planets in both natal charts. After calculating the midpoints, plot them onto a new chart, and analyze this composite chart.

Pay attention to the positions of the sun, moon, and ascendant as they indicate essential dynamics within the relationship. Composite charts offer insights into shared values, general compatibility, and potential pitfalls in a relationship.

3. Midpoint Method

The midpoint method is another approach to comparing astrology charts that focuses on shared points between two individual’s natal charts. In this method, you calculate each planet’s midpoint (the middle point in degrees of longitude) and analyze these positions for potential harmony or conflict.

For example, if Person A’s Venus is at 1 degree Aries and Person B’s Venus is at 9 degrees Aries, the midpoint would be 5 degrees Aries. If another planet or significant point in either chart closely aligns with this midpoint, it indicates a strong energetic connection regarding love and attraction.

Using these midpoints helps identify unique points of resonance, or discordance in a relationship by pinpointing astrological points where you intersect or diverge.

In conclusion, comparing astrology charts provides invaluable insights into the complexities of personal connections and can help guide decisions about relationships. By employing these three techniques – synastry, composite charts, or midpoint method – you can better understand how well you relate to others and uncover the various nuances that shape your connections with them.
