In the modern age of digital connectivity, the safety and performance of Wi-Fi networks have become critical concerns for individuals and businesses alike. Wi-Fi analyzers are instrumental tools that help gauge network performance, security, and troubleshoot numerous issues. Here’s a look at the 5 best Wi-Fi analyzers to check if your network is safe:

1.NetSpot – NetSpot is a versatile Wi-Fi analyzer for Windows and macOS that offers both a professional and a free version. Its two modes, Discover and Survey, help you map out your network to visualize dead zones and optimize hotspot placement. In terms of security, NetSpot can help you see who’s connected to your network and identify unauthorized access points.

2.Wireshark – Wireshark is an open-source network protocol analyzer that is considered one of the most powerful tools for network analysis. It can capture packets in real time and display them in detail. While it has a steep learning curve, it’s incredibly useful for detecting security issues such as intrusions and monitor data packets for any malicious activity on your network.

3.Acrylic Wi-Fi Home – A user-friendly application designed for Windows, Acrylic Wi-Fi Home provides detailed information on the Wi-Fi networks in your vicinity including the safety of each network. It features security information to identify networks with weak encryption or passwords at risk of being hacked.

4.WiFi Analyzer (Windows) – WiFi Analyzer is an application available on the Microsoft Store that turns your PC into a diagnostic tool for analyzing the networks around you. It’s particularly good at identifying channels with the least interference and suggests ways to secure your network better.

5.inSSIDer – inSSIDer is a Wi-Fi scanner for Windows and macOS that was created by MetaGeek, LLC. Though it’s a paid application, its advanced technology helps users understand their wireless environment by analyzing signal strength across different channels. For security purposes, you can use inSSIDer to assess which encryption type is being used, ensuring that you’re using WPA2 or WPA3 rather than the less-secure WEP.

Each of these Wi-Fi analyzers comes with its own set of features geared towards ensuring your Wi-Fi network’s safety and efficiency. Regularly using such tools to audit your network will allow you to maintain excellent levels of security and keep unwelcome intruders at bay.
