Product Review of Tic Toc Time

Using Tic Toc Time, learners learn how to read a clock face by relating it to things they are already familiar with, such as the sun, shadows, night, and day. Developed for kids aged 3-8, Tic Toc Time meets the Common Core State Standards for mathematics, including time telling for grades 1-3.

What Users Love About the App
“This app is a fun way for kids to learn to tell time, use a compass, understand somewhat abstract (from a kid’s point of view) ways to speak about time – such as quarter past, etc. – and understand the relationship between shadows and the sun.”
“Love that this app offers more than just how to read a click. It offers a detailed explanation of the concept of time — direction, where the sun rises and set and a view from space explaining that the sun really never sets. It explains how the current system of telling time emerged from watching shadows on a sundial. It’s incredibly engaging too. Highly recommend.”
“This app is such a great, unexpected, addition to our homeschool. Not only can my child learn to tell time, but they can learn many other things that I’ve never seen the math books teach along side telling time.”
“Great app for teaching kids all about time – how we measure time and why, and also great practice in telling time. The graphics are wonderful, the games are engaging, and the thoroughness of the app is amazing.”
“I think this app is wonderful! It is well worth the money. We will be using this again and again. I can really see my children understanding why we tell time the way we do. The background of it is so important, and it is thoroughly covered in this app.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“App stop working on IPad Pro, I try reinstalling but it would not log pass the seven academy logo. Please fix! Thanks”
“The major flaw for me is the music. It is too loud, is distracting, and makes it difficult to hear the narrator. When I emailed the app developer to ask that they update with an option to remove music they told me to turn off sounds in the parent section. This will turn off the music but also silences the sound effects and the narrator making the app useless as you can no longer hear the instructions.”
“It could use some improvements in usability. There is a long loading time for each section and it is easy to accidentally touch the screen at the wrong time causing you to miss important information.”
