Product Review of Stop, Breathe & Think

This tool helps kids and adults manage their emotional state and improve how they handle life’s ups and downs. From the Check-In screen, users can rate their feelings on a scale of “great” to “rough” and identify the emotions they are feeling at that moment. Based on their responses, the app prescribes appropriate calming meditations or other activities. The tool reminds users to check in daily; it can be linked with Alexa at home or Slack at work.

What Users Love About the App
“This is an amazing app, it is absolutely magical. It really helped me because it was so calming and I would definitely recommend this app if you are anxious or just need some meditation. It is also free unless you want to have the full experience.”
“This app is different. Most meditation apps seemed aimed at an older female audience that’s already kinda woo, with instructions like, ” imagine yourself like a rose”. This one has cool cartoons teaching you to “be like a lion, not a chihuahua,” There are meditations aimed at kids, teens, men, LGBTQ, people of color- it just feels much more inclusive and real-world, not pretentious.”
“Love this app. I’ve been using this app almost everyday, and I can honestly say I feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface of everything available to me to use. I have been more grounded & focused & BETTER since I started using this app & would recommend it.”
“This has literally been a life changer, I try to get a session in as much as I can, and from the stress of running a business and daily life… these sessions allow me to take a “breath” relax and focus. Great app.”
“I’ve been using this app on and off since at least 7 years ago. Even the short guided meditations always seem to help me reconnect with myself and my emotions. I highly recommend this meditation app, especially if you’re a beginner and don’t know where to start.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“You get rewarded with virtual badges for consistency night after night. I had 33 days in a row, was unable to listen to it one evening, and the next night it had kicked me back to the beginning with night 1. Uninstalled it for that reason. Maybe badges should be awarded on a percentage basis instead.”
“I don’t see value in this so far. I’m doing the free trial, and so far, all it does is recommend meditation sessions based on my mood. I already know what kind of meditation I need according to my mood. I don’t see any other features of value.”
“The app is fine but the customer service is horrible. I emailed to find out if they had gift subscriptions I could buy for a friend in the hospital. A week later I get a one-line response about have no free subscriptions available. I never asked for anything free. The answer I got was curt at best and didn’t an answer the question I actually asked.”
“It’s a great app… when it works. After paying for a subscription, I realized the app wasn’t updating my daily streak. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, but then it wouldn’t let me log in and resetting my password did nothing. Reached out to customer support and got a request to reset my password (again). After replying to them, I heard nothing, and my follow-up email never received a reply.”
“***DO NOT USE THIS APP*** I used this app for over a year. I even purchased some of the meditation exercises. Then one day, I can’t log in. I email, they say someone is working on it. 3 months go by, no word, still cannot log in. Email again, only to be told that they will get ahold of me when they get to my issue. A year later, still nothing.”
