What Users Love About the App
“This game makes it easy to examine and learn more about particular topics. This would be great for individual projects, group, and simple learning opportunities to build off their studies in class.”
“This site offers more than just project guides. It has tons of teacher resources, help for students who don’t know where to start, step-by-step guidance on how to conduct a science project, and a section where students can ask an expert if they encounter a problem or have an unanswered question.”
“Science Buddies is a great addition to a teacher’s list of resources for Science Fair Projects. It is a comprehensive guide that provides students with all the tools that are needed to generate an idea and complete the project.”
“The resource guide for students, parents, and teachers is comprehensive and user friendly. The idea generator and Ask an Expert feature is a bonus and offers students additional resources. One of the best features is the library of ideas that students can look through in order to generate their own idea.”
“This outstanding website has replaced my extensive library of science project idea books as the main resource for my students. I especially like how the projects are categorized as beginner, intermediate, and advanced, so my beginning students could be successful.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“This used to be a great site. In the last few years, I’ve seen the projects drift from teaching real science and engineering concepts to simply offering instructions (that sometimes work) to a result. The kids in my class get confused on the concepts where they weren’t before.”
“If kids have questions, they used to be able to get good answers in the expert’s forum. They still can if it’s a chemistry or biology question. They don’t seem to have experts in physics, robotics, or electronics now. It’s sad to see a once-great site go downhill.”
“It’s terrible and does not even tell you about science projects without signing in and says I already have an account and I don’t.”
“My son wanted to try a project the site offered on passwords. He downloaded the program and it wouldn’t run. They have a forum where “experts” can help, so I asked there for some help. The “expert” said that he had just updated the program, it worked on his computer so that’s it. Help forums that aren’t helpful are a waste too.”
“If you are looking for a way to “unplug” your children and get them involved with real-world projects vs screen time, then these kits are not for you. NO instructions come with their kits and you and your child are practically FORCED to sit in front of a computer to watch slideshows on how to assemble these kits.”
