Product Review of Scann3D

Scann3D (patent pending) is photogrammetry technology designed to allow true 3-D model capture and reconstruction for smartphones and tablets, making your device a standalone tool for turning images into 3-D models, which can be stored shared, and edited by third-party applications. It also allows the processing of all your images by and on your device. This app provides absolute privacy to its users. It does not store any user’s models without prior consent; it can also be used in augmented or virtual reality applications.

What Users Love About the App
“A great app. Does the job without having to upload anything to the cloud. It renders models on my four GB RAM phone smoothly. And the auto guided mode is easy to use, but the manual allows for more freedom.”
“Amazing. Unbelievable. The free version shows insane promise and functionality. I’m considering getting the pro to see what it can do. Amazing what a basic android phone with a basic camera can do thanks to this app.”
“I was surprised by how many people were having problems with incomplete meshes. I did some strain tests on the app with just one light source and crappy photos and got a surprisingly good mesh.”
“I was quite surprised! For being free, most of the errors are user errors. So make sure you get all angles for a good scan, and the free version works very well, makes me want to buy the paid version!”
“It is awesome! It’s easy to use, and for me, I had less than ideal lighting in my room, and it took it well. It only took a minute max for the model to finish up on low quality with 21 photos.”
What Users Dislike About the App
“Stuffing a pro subscription right down a new user’s throat upon opening the app? Not very good marketing there. When I tried to make a simple scan, I got to 12 pics, and magically the position of the object was lost. Had to start over.”
“Do not get this app. You can’t download unless subscribed, so it’s useless. And on the free version, the models created are incredibly low quality, and even if you could download them, they’d still be useless.”
“The rendering failed every time no matter how careful or good my lighting was. Plus, I canceled the last day of the trial and was charged for a month.”
“App will scan things in the background instead of your object. You need a completely blank white background. It makes your scan one-sided, like a mask. You need to subscribe to have reasonable high-quality scans, but you also need to subscribe even to download your scans, making the app completely useless. Don’t use.”
“What on earth misses so much detail, leaves massive holes. Takes in so much background and floor instead of concentrating on the object. Keeps crashing. Very poor, not worth it. And it’s not easy to cancel. It forces you to sign up before you get a trial.”
