Product Review of Represent Me!

This is an iCivics game in which learners play as legislators trying to get reelected. During the game, the learners look at 12 bills after which they pick the best one for their constituents, gaining votes in the process for the next election. They are also to determine the target beneficiaries of the bill—young, old, rural, urban, and so on. Numerous tips help the learner decide on the right bills to choose. This is an interactive way to train learners on civic matters.

What Users Love About the App
“It’s a very good opening tool for the chapter. Having constituents visualized with their own priorities listed can help students make better sense of concepts like perspectives and influences by providing something concrete.”
“This would be a great software to introduce to students before diving into topics like politics and persuasion. For ELL purposes, I find it helpful to show how people can be influenced by a variety of factors and that not keeping those factors in mind could be problematic when trying to persuade them.”
